Fuerteventura has some of the best beaches in the world and Sotavento Beach is no exception. Located on the Jandia Peninsula in southern Fuerteventura, Sotavento Beach is one of the most visited destinations on the island.

It’s a sprawling ten-kilometre strip of glorious sand with huge dunes and crystal-clear water. Not just a single beach though, Sotavento is made up of five beaches: La Barca, Risco del Paso, Mirador, Los Canarios and Malnombre.

It’s not just a place to sunbathe and take a stroll, however; it also has a number of watersport activities to try. A sand bank just off the coast creates a two-mile lagoon which is the perfect setting for windsurfing and kitesurf lessons during high tide.
